In an interview with Mehr’s news agency, Ebrahim Rezaei highlighted Iran’s legal and legitimate rights to own nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.
Under Articles 4 (NPT) and 2 of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) law, which owns peaceful nuclear technology, including uranium enrichment, Iran has no inviolable rights and cannot be deprived of Iran of its rights.
He pointed to several statements that Western officials, particularly Americans, have said about Iran’s right to enrich uranium as a mere language of power, adding that the Islamic Republic and the nation of Iran have never been before and will not be subject to coercion.
Elsewhere in his remarks, lawmakers mentioned France’s recent stance on Iran’s nuclear issue, emphasizing that French officials are not only trying to limit Iran’s nuclear program, but also calling for restrictions on Iran’s missile programmes and regional capabilities.
Rezai then pointed to recent Islamic countries on Iran’s nuclear issue, adding, “Fortunately, 57 Islamic countries were convened at the Istanbul Summit, condemning the first crime and aggression against the Zionist regime and the United States.”
While the 12-day Israelis imposed a war with Iran, the world witnessed Iran dealing with a crushed blow to US military bases without the help of other countries, and finally it was the Americans who called for a ceasefire, the spokesman stressed.
