Esmail Baghhai, a spokesman for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, has denounced Israel’s airstrikes on Yemen’s capital Sanaa, targeting infrastructure and power plants. He also expressed his sadness towards several Yemeni civilian martists in the attack, hoping for a quick recovery of the injured.
Baghaei described repeated Israeli attacks on Yemen’s economy and civilian infrastructure (such as airports, ports, power plants, food warehouses, etc.) as war crimes and crimes against humanity. He said these attacks are clear evidence of Israel’s hostility towards the development and progress of the region.
The spokesman praised the solidarity of the oppressed Palestinians and Yemeni people, stressing that all Islamic countries are responsible for urgent action to stop genocide and help Gaza people facing thwarted hunger.
He emphasized that facing genocide and war crimes in Gaza and the West Bank is a legal and moral obligation for all governments, particularly Islamic countries, and hoped that an extraordinary meeting of OIC Foreign Ministers in Jeddah would pay special attention to this issue.
