A spokesman for Iran’s Foreign Ministry said the country has never tried to underestimate the UN Security Council’s snapback mechanism and is fully aware of its potential negative consequences.
He emphasized that European parties do not have legal and ethical authority to use this mechanism. Therefore, Iran is not aware of it and has not overlooked the possibility of its impact.
The spokesman added that Iranian diplomatic devices employ clear programs and extensive measures to prevent Europe from using the tool as a means of psychological war against public opinion.
He noted that communications between Iran’s foreign minister and his European counterparts, as well as the ongoing consultations with Russia and China, in Geneva, are all part of this effort. These initiatives have been underway for a while, and Iran hopes that positive results will be clear soon.
