The group said that Washington has become a party of conflict since October 2023 due to its involvement in the business, including providing intelligence information on Israeli attacks and planning with Israeli forces.
“The direct US participation in military operations with Israeli forces is, as a matter of international law, the US is the party of military conflict in Gaza, not now,” said Sarah Yager, director of Washington at HRW. “At some point, the US military and intelligence reporting officials and contractors supporting Israeli forces commit war crimes, and may find themselves facing criminal prosecution for Gaza’s atrocities.”
US authorities acknowledge Israel’s implementation intelligence for strikes and broad coordination to target Hamas leaders. The Trump administration has also approved the release of the 2,000-pound bomb previously withheld by President Joe Biden, increasing support.
“International law holds a country that legally conspires when it knowingly supports other countries to commit serious war laws and other abuse,” Yager added.
