Armenian National Security Council Secretary Amen Grigolyan met with Dr. Seyed Kamal Karaj, chairman of the Council on Diplomatic Strategy (SCFR) today to discuss bilateral, regional and international relations.
Grigorian expressed his joy in visiting Iran, saying that the initialized peace agreement between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenia emphasized the principles of territorial integrity, national sovereignty, security, inviolability, jurisdiction and interaction.
He added, “The Armenian military also implements border control and security for this communication route, and all infrastructure is under the supervision of the Armenian government.”
The Armenian National Security Council secretary said his country is sensitive to Iran’s red line.
Kharrazi also stated that the Caucasus region is extremely important and the issue is complicated, saying, “We are ready to support an independent state and provide support to Armenia, as we supported Armenia’s independence and sovereignty.”
The President of SCFR said: “We are pleased with the agreement with the Republic of Azerbaijan and are pleased that Iran’s benevolent view has been considered in this agreement. However, the participation of the US corporation in the communication route between Azerbaijan and Armenia requires consideration of the details of the contract mentioned. Even his own signature will comply with no rules.”
Kharrazi emphasized that “there is a need to continue discussions between the two countries on this point.”
He also emphasized the importance of economic cooperation and construction of transport corridors, particularly the north-south corridors, in particular the countries and regions.
