Major General Amir Khatami said air defense is at the forefront of protecting the country’s airspace, and in the 12-day war, it proved ready to face threats at all levels.
He emphasized that all the martyrs and fighters of the recently imposed war showed sacrifices in defending the revolution and their beloved homeland. He added that the enemy pursued a malicious goal against Iran, but the leader-led Iranian state and military neutralised their plot with unity and resilience.
Major Khatami, deeply aware of the ominous plan of the global arrogance system for Iran’s independence and security, emphasized that martyrs will give the highest meaning to selfless sacrifices and ensure the continued pride of the country.
The Army Secretary said that using all defensive capabilities, brave Iranian soldiers are ready to protect the country’s sovereignty and national interests over the enemy. He vowed that the army would stand to the final breath, fulfilling the noble ideals of the revolution and the martyrs.
On June 13, Israel launched a blatant, unprovoked attack on Iran, triggering a 12-day war that killed at least 1,064 people across the country, including military commanders, nuclear scientists and ordinary civilians.
The United States also took part in the war by bombing three nuclear sites in Iran with a serious violation of international law.
In response, Iranian forces targeted strategic sites across the occupying regions and Aldeid Air Force Base in Qatar, the largest US military base in West Asia.
On June 24, Iran managed to stop the terrorist invasion through successful retaliation operations against both the Israeli regime and the United States.
