Birthday and Parents
Imam Hasan al-Askari (AS) was born in Madina on the eighth day of Rabbi Thani’s month.
Imam’s name is Al Hasan, a resident of “Samara Suburbs”, and he is entitled Al Askari. His father was Imam Ali Andnaki (AS), and his mother was Saril Katun, the ideal woman of honor, worship, chastity and generosity.
Imam Hasan al-Askari lived in the care of his respected father until the age of 11. When his father had to leave for Samara, he was to accompany him and share the hardships of the journey with his family. In Samara he spent time with his father either in prison or partial freedom. However, he had the opportunity to benefit from his father’s teachings and guidance.
The Imamate era
Imam’s father was martyred when Imam was 22 years old. Four months before his death, the father declared that his son was the successor and enforcer of his will and asked his followers to testify of the facts. Therefore, Imamate’s responsibility was given to him, and he achieved it in the face of great difficulty and hostile circumstances.
In the early days of his Imamate, al-Mutassam al-Abubasi was the caliph. When the latter abdicated, he was taken over by Al Mutadi. After only 11 months and a week of short reign, Al Muthamad came to the throne. During their regime, Imam Hasan al-Askari (AS) enjoyed no peace at all. The Abbaside dynasty was involved in constant complications and disorders, but each king thought it was necessary to imprison the Imam (AS).
Imam Hasan al-Askari (AS) had only 28 years of life, but even in this short period, several high-ranking scholars benefited from the sea of his knowledge, as they were covered by a series of troubles and hardships.

Characters and virtues
Imam Hasan al-Askari (as) was unparalleled in knowledge, tolerance, forgiveness, generosity, sacrifice and respect. Whenever al-Mutamad asked anyone about his captive Imam Hasan Al-Askari (AS), he was told that during the day the Imam would fast and that his tongue would not speak any words other than the memory of his Creator.
Social status of the Imam
Imam al-Askari (AS) like his noble father, a prominent scholar and leader (Imam), who could not ignore his own period. He was the chief of religion scholars and the ideal of worshippers.
However, Imam (AS) and his companions were always suffered from persecution and oppression by the government of the time and were imprisoned in prison.
Imam’s Cultural School
The main challenge of the Imam was to protect the Islamic message, direct people towards it, and communicate its principles and values.
The Imams were not spared (AS) from efforts to defend Islamic faith, thought and its science.
Imam al-Askari (AS) like his ancestors, focused his activities on the Qur’an and prophetic traditions, protecting the originality of the message and practicing his cultural and academic roles during the course of Ahul Beit’s School (AS) which discovered its contents.
Martialism of the Imam
Imam Hasan al-Askari (PBUH) suffered significantly on the 8th of Rabbi Awal in 260 (AH) as he was poisoned by the caliph Mutamad. He was 28 years old at the time of his death. He was buried in the house where his father was buried in Samara. He left his son – the living holy men awaited Imam Muhammad al-Mahdi (Pbuh), who was waiting for the truthful rule of heaven in the whole world.

Imam Hasan al Askari’s short proverb (as)
– A person who is carefully respectful by attribute, generous in character, and inherently generous in nature will win many friends.
– God’s worst servants are two-faced and bilateral. They praise their current friends and back up their absence. They will have blessings and want them vy for letting them down when they suffered misfortune.
– Don’t dispute (with others) so that you lose your splendor and don’t joke.
– Respectful mutual love is a reward for them. The love of a sinful man for a respectable man is a virtue for a respectable man. The hatred of a sinful man is an advantage for a respectful man. The hatred of respectfulness for the sinful is a decline for the sinful.
