Iran’s Minister of Defence Army Logistics Amir Aziz Nasirzadeh said international organisations such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and BRICS could provide appropriate alternatives to confront the Western unidirectionality and the formation of new alliances.
Speaking about the bystanders of the SCO Summit, Nasirzadeh pointed out that the world is facing unilateral Western acts and overreach.
In a variety of areas, including security, economics and politics, organizations such as SCO and BRICS can serve as effective alternatives to unilaterally counteract and establish new coalitions, he said.
The Minister emphasized that member states of such alliances should cooperate in economic and security issues, develop their economy to strengthen regional security and withstand sanctions.
He added that SCO was established on this principle and has produced positive results so far.
