Speaking in China during a meeting with permanent members of the Chinese Communist Party, Pezeschkian described the Shanghai Cooperation Agency (SCO) as an effective tool for unilaterally countering. He emphasizes that humanity longs for justice, fairness and the rule of law, adding that global civilization is based on the rich heritage of nations like Iran and China.
“The leaders (of the Islamic Revolution) emphasized the importance of expanding ties with China and left us to follow this path,” Pezeschkian said, saying that the joint working group wanted to accelerate the implementation of the agreement between the two countries.
Chinese officials welcomed Iran’s positive view on his part on the recent SCO summit in China, noting that China is ready to implement the understanding reached between President Xi Jinping and President Pezeshkian. He reaffirmed Beijing’s support for Iran on issues relating to sovereignty and national interests.
Emphasizing both sides’ resolve to promote actual cooperation, he added that President Xi Jinping’s promise to Iran would certainly come true. He emphasized the need to strengthen multilateral cooperation, rejecting bullying in international relations and underscoring the two countries’ common commitment to supporting the United Nations and the post-World War II international order.
