In a report on Wednesday, news from the drop site revealed that Google has signed a six-month $45 million contract with Netanyahu’s office to disregard, disregard and dismiss the war-torn humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip with ministerial messaging.
The agreement, signed in late June, describes Google as a “critical entity” supporting Netanyahu’s public relations strategy. This prevented Israel from entering the Palestinian enclave on March 2, raising concerns among Israeli lawmakers about potential public backing.
At the time, an Army spokesman said authorities could launch a digital campaign that “explains that there is no hunger and explains that they present data.”
Since then, Israeli-sponsored ads have been widely distributed, denies repeated reports of starvation in Gaza. Managed through YouTube and Google’s Display & Video 360 platform, these ads include videos from Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. “There’s food in Gaza. The other claims are lies,” he said, drawing more than 6 million views.
According to official documents, such efforts are called “Hasbara.” The Hebrew term is often translated as “propaganda.” Beyond Google, records show that Israel allocated $3 million for ads for US-based platform X and $2.1 million for French and Israeli company Outbrain/Teas.
A similar campaign targeting the UN and Gaza authorities last year was reported by Wired, including an ad that denies “deliberate sabotage” of global aid and accusing them of promoting the controversial US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation.
This is because Gaza’s humanitarian conditions continue to deteriorate, with the Gaza Ministry of Health reporting that 185 people, including 12 children, died of starvation in August.
The 70 reported deaths came after the unsupported integrated food security stage system officially designated Gaza as starvation. Health officials say more than 43,000 children under the age of five are currently affected by malnutrition, with 55,000 pregnant or breastfeeding women.
Such figures underline the growing humanitarian crisis despite efforts by the Israeli regime to dismiss or minimize the scale.
Israel’s war on genocide with Gaza has killed at least 63,746 Palestinians and injured 161,245 people so far, the Ministry of Health said.
