Seyed Abbas Araghhi met in Doha along with Qatar’s chief Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and Qatar’s prime minister and foreign minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulman al-Thani. The meeting, called “The News of Winning,” following Iran’s June 23 missile operation, struck Al Udeid’s air force base in retaliation for a US attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities.
“At this meeting, I gave the Qatar chief the verbal message of President Masudo Pezeshkian. It was a very important and influential encounter,” Araguc told Al Sharq in an interview to be released on Sunday.
He added that the debate “completely resolved” the misconceptions that emerged after the missile operation.
Iran’s foreign minister said the talks also touched on the stability of the wider region.
“We discussed ways to achieve regional stability, particularly how to resume dialogue among regional countries.
Araghchi emphasized that bilateral relations remained strong. “Fortunately, there is no conflict between the two countries,” he said. “Through this trip, the misconceptions have been completely removed.”
He added that Iran’s nuclear files have also been reviewed in detail. “I explained the latest developments of the Qatar chief. Qatar friends have always had a valuable perspective. We had a useful consultation this time too,” he pointed out.
During his visit to Doha, Aragut also met members of Hamas Politburo, where he reaffirmed Iran’s support for the Palestinians’ “righteous resistance to Israeli occupation.”
At another meeting in Doha, Aragut discussed Iran’s nuclear program with EU foreign policy director Kaja Karas. He urged top diplomats to comply with European obligations under the 2015 nuclear deal known as the JCPOA and counter US measures that threaten diplomats.
