During the meeting, Verayati emphasized the historical and cultural ties between the two countries and stated that these relationships were established on religious, cultural commonalities and good neighbours.
He said Iran has made its relationship with neighboring Iraq very important. He added that Iraq’s independence, stability and progress are of paramount importance to Iran.
Iran’s Islamic Republic is confident that Iraq will rely on the unrelenting support of its religious authority (MARJA) and its national leaders to achieve more success in the future, Velayati stressed.
The leader of the Iraqi National Wisdom Movement (NWM) pointed to Israel’s 12-day war against Iran, highlighting that Iran was very shining in this war under the wise leader of the Islamic Revolution.
He emphasized that Iran showed off an important and influential image to the world during the 12-day war.
