Russia attacked Ukraine with 810 drones and decoys, the Ukrainian Air Force reported.
Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Yuriy Ihnat confirmed with the Associated Press that Sunday’s attacks were the biggest Russian drone strike since the start of Russian operations against Ukraine. Russia has also launched 13 missiles of various types.
According to an Air Force statement, Ukraine neutralized it by firing down 747 drones and four missiles.
Hits from nine missiles and 54 drones were recorded at 33 locations across Ukraine, with fragments of fire targets falling to eight locations, the Air Force said.
An Associated Press reporter saw a smoke plume rise from the roof of the Kiev pastor’s building, but it was not immediately clear whether the smoke was the result of a direct hit or debris.
The building is home to the Ukrainian Cabinet and houses the minister’s office. Police blocked access to the building as fire trucks and ambulances arrived.
Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitschko said two people were killed and 20 people were injured in the attack.
