The attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities, which were protected under the IAEA Safeguard Agreement, are a clear example of national terrorism carried out by the US and Zionist regimes, Najafi said in his address to the Swamp Conference on Monday.
He added that it is very necessary for the US and Zionist regime attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities to be reflected in the IAEA Director’s report.
In recent years, Iranian delegations have tried to include provisions in the IAEA documents prohibiting attacks or threats of attacks on nuclear facilities, but opposition from some political parties has prevented this, Najafi pointed out, adding that recent attacks show the real reasons for these opposition.
Without complete disarmament of nuclear weapons, actual nuclear security would not be achieved. According to Iranian diplomats, achieving nuclear security requires the complete, irreversible and verifiable destruction of such weapons.
