Hezbollah Secretary Sheikh Naim Qassem gave a speech aired on Wednesday on the anniversary of the birth of Prophet Mohammad (Pbuh).
“The main issue in Lebanon is the state for all Lebanese people,” said Qasem, stressing that “Hezbollah sacrificed its leadership to protect Lebanon and its territory.”
“Resistance stands against Israel, which prevents us from achieving our goal,” added the Hezbollah leader.
He urged the Lebanese government to stand up to the Israeli regime, noting that “the United States wants Israel to control Lebanon.”
“The United States and Israel want Lebanon to have no military power,” according to the Hezbollah leader.
“‘Hezbollah will not surrender regardless of price,” he emphasized elsewhere.
According to the Hezbollah leader, Lebanon’s national unity is necessary to stop Israel’s invasion of the country.
Qassem has expressed its readiness to work with all parties to stop the Israeli invasion.
He pointed to Tuesday’s attack by Israeli fighters in Doha, Qatar, saying Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates could become their next target.
Hezbollah chiefs have argued that the only thing that keeps Israel at bay is resistance, saying that one day Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates might attack as part of Greater Israel’s plan.
