At a meeting held between Mohammad Sadegh Azimifar, CEO of the National Iranian Petroleum Products, Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC), and Gevorg Papoyan, Minister of Economy in Armenia, both emphasized the need to expand energy cooperation and develop the trade in petroleum products between Iran and Armenia.
The Minister of Economy in the Armenia emphasised the importance of developing cooperation between the two countries in the energy sector, highlighting Armenia’s interest in high quality and competitive Iranian liquefied gas (LPG) as a basis for long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation, as a means to strengthen the country’s energy security.
Papoyan emphasized the importance of strengthening the economic partnership between Armenia and Iran as part of a broader regional cooperation effort.
During the meeting, both sides investigated opportunities for further collaboration, including expanding oil and petroleum products trade, developing LPG and natural gas supply infrastructure, co-investment in the energy sector, and efficient use of regional transport and logistics hubs such as the North-South Corridor and the “Cross of Peace” initiative.
