The reproduction proposed by France and Saudi Arabia was called the New York Declaration on the peaceful resolution of the Palestinian issue and the implementation of two state solutions.
On Friday, 142 votes were given, 10 and 12 votes against 10.
The vote took place before the upcoming UN General Assembly Summit, co-chaired by Riad and Paris, scheduled for September 22nd in New York. At the summit, French President Emmanuel Macron is expected to formally recognize Palestine.
Through this resolution, the United Nations General Assembly approved the New York Declaration. The New York Declaration outlines “specific, time-bound, irreversible steps” towards a two-state solution between the Israeli regime and Palestine ahead of the conference of world leaders.
The 7-page New York Declaration is the result of an international conference held at the United Nations in July hosted by Saudi Arabia and France, and focuses on the resolution of decades of conflict. The US and Israeli administrations boycotted the event.
