Speaking at the introduction ceremony for the company’s financial and international affairs manager, CEO Hamid Bobbard said guidelines from the country’s leadership on diversifying oil sales methods should be treated as a roadmap for the international affairs sector.
Bobbard said the global oil market faces complex and variable conditions and that Iran will become vulnerable if it fails to follow these guidelines. He expressed his hope that through the efforts of his colleagues, Iran not only neutralizes external pressures, but also maintains and strengthens its share in the global market.
The Deputy Minister of Petroleum also emphasized that employees in international affairs must be aware of their national obligations, saying it is extremely important for the government, parliament and the country as a whole. He said his work at the NIOC must be aimed at serving people, and that because the activities are important and strategic, everything should work together with the pride of a “national hero.”
Bovard said there is a need to form a special working group in the production sector, adding that a given billions of barrels of oil in the country can be extracted using the latest technology to generate revenue.
At the same ceremony, Behzad Shamsi, the new head of financial issues at NIOC, described the financial issues in the oil sector as difficult and complicated, expressing hope that cooperation from other sectors will promptly resolve existing issues.
Former Treasury Secretary Ali Mohammad Masoumian thanked the board for its support. He called his short tenure a valuable opportunity to learn and strengthen management knowledge, which led to improved reforms in the financial sector and specific processes.
Masoumian said he hopes that the programs and measures he has begun will continue and accelerate under the new management team to achieve NIOC’s key financial goals.
Saeed Sadeghi, the new head of international affairs, mentioned challenges over the past year, including numerous sanctions and difficult global political conditions. He stated that overcoming these periods would have been impossible without the solidarity and hard work of his colleagues, and he expressed his hope that they would use past experiences to continue their paths well.
Previous international affairs caretaker Houten Salari thanked the board and his colleagues in international affairs. He added that the department’s efforts are aimed not only at the company but also to the welfare of people, and the team’s relationship and commitment allows them to continue working without achieving their goals even under the most challenging working conditions.
