According to a report by The Guardian, citing sources familiar with the issue, “Eric is out to buy a drone company.”
“Whether they sell them for Ukrainians or not, these companies are now strategic assets.”
Prince is reportedly pursuing a meeting with key players in Ukraine’s fast-growing drone sector, which has played a central role in the ongoing Russian-Ukrain war.
“I’m not surprised at all,” the knowledge of former American special forces soldiers with experience in Ukraine and various defense companies operating there told the Guardian. “Drones are now an integral part of the PMC (civilian military contractor) world. If you’re a PMC and you don’t have drones or electronic warfare capabilities, you’re outdated.”
Internal documents cited by the news outlet suggest that the Pentagon is interested in working with US drone manufacturers operating in Ukraine as part of a broader effort to understand the evolving nature of modern warfare and adapt to the realities of new battlefields.
This development comes amid the ongoing change in military strategy where unmanned aviation systems have proven critical in surveillance, targeting and logistics.
