Released a statement on Sunday, the Secretariat of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) on the Cairo Agreement with the IAEA said details of these arrangements have been reviewed by the SNSC’s nuclear committee, and that those signed fully reflect the committee’s approved decision.
It added that the Atomic Energy Commission, which consists of senior officials from the relevant agencies, has historically been permitted by the SNSC to make binding decisions, and once again acted according to standard procedures.
It said that, first, after ensuring necessary security and security conditions regarding Iran’s nuclear facilities under IAEA overseen by the US and Zionist regimes, Iran will only submit its report to the IAEA after obtaining approval from the SNSC.
“Secondly, in the next stage, the method for implementing cooperation on reports submitted to Iran and the institution must be agreed between the parties, including approval of the Supreme National Security Council, in accordance with internal procedures for the implementation of the lawsuit.”
“If hostile measures are taken against the Islamic Republic of Iran or its nuclear facilities (including the revival of the previously closed UN Security Council resolution), these arrangements will soon be suspended,” he concluded.
The statement reaffirms Iran’s stance that all nuclear cooperation with the IAEA must follow domestic security and legal surveillance, particularly after attacks on its nuclear infrastructure. The move also underscores Iran’s warning that there will be external attacks or attempts to override existing agreements if it attempts to utilize the UN Security Council against it.
