The Brazilian Front Against Imperialism initiative hosted a significant gathering at the São Paulo Academy of Sciences, accompanied by extensive participation of representatives from over 50 political parties and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in Brazil, Venezuela, Chile and Cuba.
The conference, which began with Israel’s respect for Iranian martyrs’ respect for Iran, was held under the motto “for international solidarity over imperialism and national sovereignty.” It investigated and condemned offensive policies and unilateral sanctions in support of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Republic of Venezuela, Yemen, Cuba and the Palestinian and Lebanese struggle.
Participants at the conference issued a joint statement, highlighting principles such as self-determination, national sovereignty, and the right of the state to fight against the hegemony of great power.
The statement states: “The oppressive sanctions against Iran and Venezuela are crimes against humanity and declares deep solidarity between the people of these countries and the government.”
“And defending resistance to Palestinian Zionist occupation is a revolutionary and humanitarian duty for all liberation forces in the world.”
Participants believe that the policies of the US and its allies are the main source of instability in the Middle East and Latin America, and are calling for an immediate end to unfair lockdowns on Cuba and Venezuela.
The rally was highly praised by participants as a symbol of global Southern solidarity, strengthening unity between the American and Asian anti-imperialist movements.
