Joined by China, Nicaragua, Russia, Venezuela and Belarus, Iran has introduced a resolution aimed at the IAEA General Assembly, which is the Esmaeil Baghaei foreign spokesman.
Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said, “All countries have an inviolable right to benefit from nuclear energy for peaceful purposes and are entitled to an effective guarantee against an attack or threat of attack.”
“The draft highlights that states must refrain from attacking or threatening peaceful nuclear facilities in other countries, and urges the international community to act decisively to prevent such actions from being normalized.”
“According to the draft, all countries must refrain from attacking or threatening other countries’ peaceful nuclear facilities.”
“These principles must be respected. Now is the time for the international community to take critical action to prevent the normalization of illegal behavior.”
