Major General Abdolrahim Musavi, chief of staff of the Iranian army, met with Russian Energy Minister Sergei Tsibilev to discuss bilateral cooperation and recent international development.
Musabi highlighted Russia’s “very solid and solid” stance at the UN and International Atomic Energy Agency regarding the Israeli regime’s recent attack on Iran. He emphasized that Iran was not an initiator of the war, and that diplomacy was the state’s preferred approach to resolving conflicts.
“The enemy used negotiations as a cover for fraud and ultimately launched a imposed war with Iran. However, our troops responded decisively and powerfully to the US and Israel,” Musabi said.
Minister Tsivilev expressed his sadness at the loss of Iranian commanders and scientists in the Israeli attacks and expressed full support for strengthening the joint committee to strengthen cooperation.
Both authorities highlighted the urgent need to raise Iran and Russia’s economic and defence cooperation to the highest levels, particularly in the context of serious Western sanctions affecting both countries.
On June 13, Israel launched a blatant, unprovoked attack on Iran, triggering a 12-day war that killed at least 1,064 people across the country, including military commanders, nuclear scientists and ordinary civilians.
The United States also took part in the war by bombing three nuclear sites in Iran with a serious violation of international law.
In response, Iranian forces targeted strategic sites across the occupying regions and Aldeid Air Force Base in Qatar, the largest US military base in West Asia.
On June 24, Iran managed to stop the terrorist invasion through successful retaliation operations against both the Israeli regime and the United States.
