French President Emmanuel Macron said Friday that European troikas are likely to reimpose Iran’s international sanctions by the end of the month.

When asked in an interview with Israeli Channel 12 whether the so-called snapback sanctions would be triggered, Macron responded positively, claiming that efforts to avoid Iran were “not serious.”
In late August, European troika, including France, Germany and the UK, began a 30-day process of reimposing sanctions in the absence of negotiation contracts on Iran’s nuclear program.
Iran calls the EU3 decision “unjust, illegal and has no legal basis.”
On Wednesday, Abbas Aragchi, foreign ministers of three EU countries, European Union foreign policy director and Iranian foreign minister Abbas Aragchi spoke on the phone.
