When preaching on the University of Tehran campus during Friday prayers, Hojatres Ram Haji Ali Akbari pointed to the activation of snapback mechanisms by European troikas, saying, “After overcoming the crippling sanctions imposed on the country, we should keep in mind that these issues are primarily psychological and tricks to deceive public opinion.”
As Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic Revolution, stated, the clergy stressed that the current situation in the country is not “not war or peace,” but an opportunity to rely on domestic capabilities.
Achieving confidence and relying on domestic capabilities was an important lesson learned from both the eight years of sacred defense (the war imposed by Iran by Iran from 1980 to 1988) and the war imposed by Israel with Iran over 12 days.
Elsewhere in his remarks, senior clergy seized the opportunity to welcome the success of Iranian youths in the scientific and sports region.
Turning to the 12-day Israeli war against Iran, Hojatres Ram Haji Ali Akbari highlighted that Iran had a prominent victory over the global arrogance and thwarted the malicious plot committed by its enemy against Islamic Iran.
On June 13, Israel launched a blatant, unprovoked attack on Iran, triggering a 12-day war that killed at least 1,064 people across the country, including military commanders, nuclear scientists and ordinary civilians.
The United States also took part in the war by bombing three nuclear sites in Iran with a serious violation of international law.
In response, Iranian forces targeted strategic sites across the occupying regions and Aldeid Air Force Base in Qatar, the largest US military base in West Asia.
On June 24, Iran managed to stop the terrorist invasion through successful retaliation operations against both the Israeli regime and the United States.
