In an interview with the MBC MASR TV channel, Hakan Fidan said that recent incidents and developments regarding Israel’s war of Gaza have shown that the United States has failed to have much of an impact on Israeli policy as is commonly believed, and that reality could be the opposite.
Fidan emphasized that it has always been a problem for the region since Israel seized Palestine land.
“However, Israel never really wanted a solution for the two states. It has consistently pursued the policy of seizing Palestinian land across the border and using security as an excuse in 1967,” he emphasized.
“At this point, this has been the biggest problem for the Islamic world for decades. In recent years, Israel’s expansionism has become an official threat to the region, in addition to ongoing oppression in Palestine,” he added.
Fidan, who highlighted the importance of the emergency Arab-Islamic Summit in Doha, said the meeting emphasized Israeli expansionism.
“We will continue to oppose and strive to the ongoing attempts to annex the genocide and the West Bank in Gaza to annex the West Bank, striving to realize a Palestinian state, which is crucial for regional peace,” he added.
The Foreign Minister urged Israel’s expansionist policy to be addressed by regional countries and global communities, calling for appropriate measures in this regard.
