On September 11, 1404, the UN General Assembly approved the support of 142 votes and approved the resolution proposed by France and Saudi Arabia. Iran’s Islamic Republic, along with several other countries, preferred not to vote and remained absent.
In this regard, the following points are important:
1. The resolution supports a plan to ascertain the existence of Israel in occupied territory as a nation. Iran is not accepted by Iran because Israel opposes its existence as a nation and does not accept grants to Israel of some of its Palestinian territory. At the same time, the resolution has no basis for implementation, and it is not clear how the US veto could be overcome after being introduced to the Security Council.
2. The resolution submitted to the United Nations by France and Saudi Arabia, despite its rise to support the formation of a state called the “Palestinian state,” aims to disarm Hamas and give authority to a government based in the autonomous Palestinian region led by Mahmoud Abbas. This autonomous government is a government trusted by the West, and has not made any effort to stand up the massacre of the Palestinian people through the Zionist regime, and is not trusted by the Palestinian people.
3. The formation of an independent state in occupied territory must be based on the true will of the major inhabitants, Muslims, Jews and Christians. Details of Iran’s proposal are registered with the United Nations in document S/2019/862 P. The proposal proposes that all residents of the occupying territories, including Palestine, Palestine, and even non-Palestinian refugees, in Jordanian or Latin American countries, have the right to vote in Jordanian or future systems of voting. This was a fair way, and was carried out in South Africa during the apartheid era and resulted. After the South African people’s struggle against the apartheid regime, people voted to abolish the regime, establishing a system free from apartheid. This method can also be implemented on occupied Palestinian territory. Therefore, in light of its reservations, Iran opposes a resolution formed with the support of political approaches of Western countries such as France, and believes that fair peace can only be achieved by ending the occupation and fully realizing the independence and sovereignty of the Parasin state.
4. In response to the question that the Iranian plan does not guarantee implementation, it should be said that the basis for implementing the Iranian plan is much stronger than the establishment of two states in the occupied territory. The two-state plan has been proposed since the establishment of the Zionist regime in 1948, but has not been implemented due to Israeli opposition and support from the West, particularly the United States. In fact, the false Israeli regime was established on November 29, 1947, and the United Nations Resolution 181 and the Palestinian Division were adopted under British orders under dual state missions: Jews (Israel) and Arabs (Palestine). On May 14, 1948, at the same time as the decisive end of British orders against Palestine, the Israeli state declared its existence, preventing the formation of the Palestinian state in four wars with the Arabs. This question should be asked by Western countries. Why are they still pursuing a two-state plan when the Zionist administration doesn’t accept this plan and knows that the US will refuse to establish a Palestinian state on the Security Council?
5. To form a nation, there are four basic elements: territory, population, government and sovereignty, but the Zionist regime does not accept Palestinian territory, government and sovereignty, and is trying to eliminate the elements of population by committing genocide on this land and forcing Palestinians to migrate. The two-state solution, particularly the government that supports France, must first force the Israeli regime to accept four elements of the formation of the Palestinian state and support the two-state plan.
Generally, French resolutions have a purely political approach, and instead of such a flashy plan, Western countries should pursue practical measures such as trade, politics, and military relations with Israel, in order to truly support the defenseless people of Palestine and Gaza. They cannot continue to sell arms to the occupying regimes while simultaneously proposing two state plans that are impossible to work on.
