Addressing a meeting held on Saturday night to discuss Iran’s strategy for technological development, President Peshūssian said rapid changes in the world economy, particularly the Persian Gulf region, are restructuring the national development model.
Referring to the development of the global economy and moving towards the post-oil economy, Pezeshkian said the future of Iran’s economy depends on technological advancements, scientific innovations, and in particular the construction of a post-oil economy, rooted in lessons drawn from BRICS and SCO member states.
He said Iran must create wealth based on scientific achievements and transfer of knowledge from universities to innovative and industrial enterprises, and focus on industry creation.
He also emphasized the need to utilize “the successful experiences of member states of regional and international organizations, such as BRICS and Shanghai Cooperation Agency.”
During the session, participants outlined key priorities for advancing Iran’s technological landscape, including prioritizing effectively focusing resources in the technology sector at the national level. Iranian companies in high potential sectors, such as biotechnology, nanotechnology, advanced technology, artificial intelligence, and more, have built deeper partnerships between allies and major countries, implement large-scale technology projects to fill global trends, and support large-scale sectors to compete with large-scale sectors.
President Pezeshkian highlighted the need to utilize successful countries as a member of regional and international organizations, including the BRICS Group of the Emerging Economy and Shanghai Cooperation Agency, and noted that his administration is being seriously determined on domestic technological development.
