“Yeah, I’ll do that,” Trump said when asked if Moscow would help protect Poland and the Baltic States from Russia if it continues to escalate, the Anadoru Agency (AA) reported.
This came before Trump set out for a service ceremony for assassinated conservative political commentator Charlie Kirk in Glendale, Arizona.
Trump’s statement follows recent allegations of Russia’s Baltic airspace violations. Three suspected Russian MIG-31 fighter jets entered Estonian airspace in the Gulf of Finland for 12 minutes without permission.
Russia refused to enter Estonia’s airspace, but Estonia summoned Russian accusations over the incident and called for consultations on Article 4 of NATO.
Trump was asked if he had been briefed on Russia’s Estonian airspace violations. “Yeah, we don’t like it.”
Poland reported that two Russian fighters had violated a safety zone around the Baltic oil balattic drilling platform on the same day.
