The first edition final of the Asian Men’s U-17 Handball Championship 2025 was held between Iran and South Korea on Thursday night, finishing 28-25 with Iranian teams. 19 years later, this is the first time that an Iranian handball team has taken the top of Asia in the boys section.
Iran’s U17 boys team won all seven games to reach the final of these games. In the preliminary stage, the Iranian handball players competed against the Maldives, Syria and South Korea, leading all these teams to advance to the second round and the President’s Cup stage.
In the second phase, the Iranian team was sown into groups from Kuwait and Qatar, hosts of this tournament Jordan. Iran won all three games to advance to the semifinals as group leader.
The Iranian U17 boys team won the semi-final against Bahrain 37-19, reaching the final against South Korea.
