Iran’s National Security Council (SNSC) Chief Ali Larijani commented at a press conference on Saturday, speaking with Lebanese and Iranian journalists in Beirut.
The press conference took place after Laryani met with Lebanon’s chairman Navi Beli.
In response to questions about Iran-Saudis Arabian relations and Sheikh Naim Qassem’s invitation to Saudi Arabia, open a new chapter titled “I like and admire Naim Qassem’s initiative.”
“The Saudi government is a brother and Muslim government, and we are in discussion together,” Larijani told reporters.
He added, “Today is a day of cooperation and the Islamic world faces a common enemy.”
The SNSC secretary added that the steps of Hezbollah’s secretary Sheikh Naim Qassem were the comfort of the Lebanese, and that was the right step.
He said, “Hezbollah is a true movement in Lebanon and in the Islamic world, and its only concern is the comfort of the people of Lebanese.”
He continued to say, “Hezbollah is a strong defensive barrier against Israel and sacrifices himself for the comfort of the Lebanese people.”
In our opinion, Iranian security guards continued to say, “Political movements that can help Lebanese people are useful.”
He added: “The resistance movement is a major asset to the Hezbollah movement, a very important movement against the Islamic world, especially the Israeli state.”
“Lebanon is a small country, but it is strong against Israel,” Larijani said.
The social media secretary said, “It is because of this strong will that we have found our roots in the younger generation. Hezbollah and Hassan Nasrara are deeply rooted in the hearts of Muslims.”
Responding to claims that US envoy Tom Barak provided millions of dollars in financial support to Hezbollah and questions about whether Iran played a role in arming Hezbollah, Larijani said, “I think Barak said it out of anger.”
Responding to the question of whether Iran plays a role in bringing Saudi Arabia and Hezbollah closer, he said, “I think it’s right so that Saudi Arabia and Hezbollah can gain intellectual cooperation.”
He also responded to another question, saying, “A sufficient effort has been put into this area and we are also following up on the issue of rebuilding homes that were destroyed in the brutal Israeli attack.”
In response to the question of whether Iran will provide weapons to Hezbollah, he said, “Hezbollah doesn’t need weapons from anyone. It’s so strong that it doesn’t have to get weapons from other places.”
