He emphasized the absolute sovereignty of Iran, the larger tumbu, the lower tongue, and the Abu Musa as an inseparable part of the territorial integrity of the state, and reiterated that these islands will always remain part of Iran.
A senior Iranian diplomat stressed that levelling unfounded claims in political statements would never change geographical, historical and legal realities.
Rejecting the interventionist words in the statement, the spokesman emphasized that when Iran’s Islamic Republic exercises its rights of sovereignty, it will take all necessary measures to ensure the safety and security of these Iranian islands and protect the interests of the countries within its territory.
The PGCC is expected to focus on regional cooperation to strengthen mutual trust between countries and prevent unstable actors such as the UK from interfering in the Persian Gulf.
