The agreement was signed by Gholamreza Amirkhani, the head of his Iranian archives, who visited Tashkent to participate in the “International Expert Forum: The Legacy of the Great Past – The Foundations of the Enlightened Future.”
The public relations department of Iran’s National Library and Archives said in a statement that the MOU was signed in front of guests and participants of the forum. The signature was made during Amirkani’s attendance at an international conference entitled “The Brilliant Heritage of the Past – The Foundations of a Bright Future” held in the Uzbekistan capital.
The event brought together over 100 researchers and experts from 20 countries to position the Center for Islamic Civilization as an important hub for scientific and cultural dialogues on Central Asia’s Islamic Heritage.
The Uzbekistan Centre for Islamic Civilizations was established under the initiative of President Shabkat Mirziyoyev. Its mission is to maintain, promote and advance the scientific and civilized heritage of Islamic countries.
