Esmaeil Baghaei made his remarks in a statement released on the Telegram Channel on Thursday.
Baghaei criticised the G7’s support for “illegal and unjust moves” by three European countries and the United States, reinstating a previously terminated UN Security Council resolution against Iran, describing it as “an approval of violations of international law.”
He said that the European troika acted through misuse of a conflict resolution mechanism, also known as the snapback mechanism of the joint comprehensive plan of action, and emphasized that the move “has no legal or logical legitimacy.”
Baghaei emphasized that the position of the G7 “cannot change the fundamentally illegal and unjust nature of its actions.”
Recalling the US military attacks on Iran during diplomatic negotiations by the Israeli regime and the US, Baghey rejected the G7’s claim that the three E3s and the US had repeatedly provided diplomatic solutions in good faith and repeatedly provided diplomatic solutions to reach comprehensive and sustainable negotiated outcomes. He called the claim “a blatant lie and a reversal of truth.”
He further alleged that the US allegedly claimed that “an illegal and unilateral withdrawal from the JCPOA in 2018” and “continued violations of international law regarding Iran” were the main causes of the current situation.
He added that the three European countries not only failed to meet the JCPOA obligations by “following the US, failing to fulfill their commitments and supporting the US and Israeli regime in military attacks on Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities,” but also “disregarded all Iran’s diplomatic initiatives and efforts.”
Baghaei also criticized the G7’s indifference to the “nuclear weapons of the Genocide Israeli regime,” describing its approach to non-proliferation as “hypocritical,” emphasising that “G7 countries “has no moral authority to lecture others.”
