The flight will restart by the beginning of Friday, and the flight tracking website shows the plane departing from the airport at 5:50am (03:50 GMT).
A spokesman for German flagship airline Luftanza said “flight operations have resumed according to schedule.”
The spokesman said at least 19 Lufthansa flights were affected either by cancellation or rerouting due to the airport shutdown.
Previously, the airport was first reported by German air traffic control on Thursday at 10:18pm (20:18pm GMT), initially leading to flight restrictions before being upgraded to full suspension.
German DPA news agency reported that police saw the drone near the airport and that they witnessed the drone on the airport grounds, Al Jazeera reported.
The police helicopters were deployed, but “there are no information on the type and number of drones,” a police spokesman told the DPA.
Airlines and airport staff had installed camp beds and provided blankets and meals to assist around 3,000 passengers affected by flight cancellations and detours, the airport said.
The Munich closure enforced temporary closures at airports in Denmark and Norway following drone sightings last week.
