With Hamas confirmation pending, the agreement will trigger an immediate ceasefire and exchange for Israeli and Palestinian prisoners.
After negotiations, Israel agreed to the first line of withdrawal. Once Hamas confirms, the ceasefire will be effective immediately, the prisoner exchange will begin, and we will create the conditions for the next stage of retreat.
The announcement comes hours after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a statement Saturday morning saying it was “in the midst of a crisis of extremely great achievements.”
Netanyahu argued that after intense military and diplomatic pressure, Hamas was pressured to agree to Israel’s proposed plan.
