On Tuesday, President Pezeshkian spoke at the certificate ceremony of Indonesia’s new ambassador to Iran, Roryanshah Soemirat, stressing the importance of promoting inclusive relations between Islamic countries and turning them into a united front.
Mr. Pezeshkian said that strengthening cooperation with Islamic countries is a cornerstone of Iran’s foreign policy. He said that the Islamic Republic of Iran, based on the teachings of Islam, considers Muslim countries as fellow citizens and believes that they must stand united against the enemies of the Islamic community.
The President reiterated that achieving this goal requires expanding ties across various sectors, including science, culture, economics, politics, society and security.
Furthermore, he expressed his gratitude for Indonesia’s supportive stance towards Iran in international forums and emphasized the ambassador’s important role in strengthening bilateral relations.
President Pezeshkian also invited the Indonesian president to visit Iran and expressed his hope that this visit would further develop exchanges and deepen ties between the two countries.
Ambassador Soemirat expressed his excitement about his new role in Iran and extended the warm greetings of the Indonesian government and people. He congratulated the two countries on the 74th anniversary of diplomatic relations and pledged to work towards strengthening ties between the governments, private sectors and peoples of Iran and Indonesia.
Mr. Soemirat also emphasized the two countries’ common commitment to global multilateralism and expressed Indonesia’s desire to continue and strengthen cooperation with Iran at bilateral, regional and multilateral levels.
He stressed the importance of supporting the Palestinian cause and reaffirmed Indonesia’s determination to support the Iranian people in their peaceful pursuit of nuclear technology.
