At the end of the meeting of the naval commanders of the Caspian coastal states, the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperation Agreement on the Caspian Sea was signed by the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan and the Republic of Azerbaijan.
This agreement reflects the shared will of the high-ranking authorities of the Caspian Coastal State and strengthens comprehensive cooperation, especially to ensure the lasting security of the entire Caspian Basin.
According to the provisions of the document, no foreign or extra-regional powers will be allowed to interfere in the internal affairs of the Caspian Sea.
The naval commander emphasized that the Caspian Sea belongs only to five coastal states and all security and related issues must be decided only by these states.
