“I am deeply happy that the Hamas-Israel talks in Sharm el-Sheikh (Egyptian city), in which Mr. Turkiye also contributed, ended with a ceasefire in Gaza,” Erdogan said on Turkish social media platform NSosyal.
President Erdoğan said the Turkish government will closely monitor the strict implementation of the ceasefire agreement and continue to contribute to the process.
Prime Minister Turkiye also continues to voice support until “an independent and sovereign Palestinian state with full territorial integrity is established, based on the 1967 borders and with al-Quds as its capital.”
“On this occasion, I send my heartfelt greetings to our Palestinian brothers and sisters, who for two years endured unspeakable suffering, fought for life and dignity under inhumane conditions, lost their children, mothers, fathers, relatives and friends, and despite all the tragedies they endured, did not compromise their honorable position,” Erdoğan said.
