According to Seven Summit Treks (SST), Hesamifard reached the summit of the world’s sixth-highest mountain with fellow climbers Chunghan Lu from Taiwan and Anar Blasheva from Kazakhstan.
They were supported by Nepali mountain guides Tashi Sherpa and Pasang Tenji Sherpa, the Tehran Times reported.
With this feat, she joins a select group of world-class climbers who have climbed all of the world’s 8,000-person climbs, but until now only one Iranian, Azim Gheitsaz, held that honor in the men’s category.
Pasang Tenji Sherpa, one of Nepal’s most accomplished high-altitude mountaineers, also successfully climbed 8,000 meters for the 13th time during this expedition, Sherpa added.
Straddling the border between Nepal and China, Cho Oyu (8,188 meters) is the world’s sixth highest mountain and a popular destination for experienced mountaineers who aim to reach all 14 of the world’s highest peaks.
