Foreign Minister Eslami told reporters on the sidelines of a weekly cabinet meeting on Wednesday that relations between Iran and the IAEA will continue to be governed by laws passed by Iran’s parliament, also known as the Majlis.
He said the authority that would assess such compliance would be the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), which would base its decision on a report provided by the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran.
Eslami also accused the United Nations nuclear agency of refusing to condemn the US-Israeli military attack on Iranian nuclear facilities and failing to comply with its legal obligations.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Eslami pointed to a memorandum of understanding signed between Iran and Russia regarding the construction of large-scale nuclear power plants, saying: “With special emphasis on previous agreements, it was agreed that eight large-scale power plants will be built in Iran.
The second part of the contract relates to small-scale power plants that will be built across the country, Eslami added.
