In his remarks to the Lebanese daily Al Jomhouriyah, Berri was asked about the foreign vote. In response, he said: “Lebanon’s electoral law is valid and elections will be held based on it.”
“This means that the voting process will take place in Lebanon and anyone who wants to vote can come to Lebanon,” he further explained.
Commenting on the Gaza ceasefire and Gaza exchange agreement, the Lebanese chairman said: “Something big has happened.”
In this regard, he pointed out that after the implementation of the first phase of the Gaza agreement, the situation cannot be reassured and needs to be handled carefully.
Regarding the situation in Lebanon, Chairman Berri stressed that he was “not worried” and denied “deeply unfounded scenarios and exaggerations” regarding suspicions of an escalation on the Lebanese front.
Berri noted that there is some speculation that after the agreement in Gaza, Israel’s enemies will turn to Lebanon.
However, he stressed that “there is no clear information on what will be proposed in this regard.”
