During a visit to London on Tuesday, Sikorsky presented British parliament with an Iranian-made drone that Russia claims is being used in the Ukraine war, and appealed for continued support for Kiev.
The head of the Polish mission in Tehran, Marcin Wilczek, was summoned on Thursday by Mahmoud Heydari, an assistant to Iran’s foreign minister and head of the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s Directorate for Mediterranean and Eastern European Affairs.
During the meeting, Mr. Haidari protested Polish FM’s involvement in an “anti-Iran program” in the British Parliament and dismissed his “intrusive” statements and “baseless” claims.
He also expressed regret for repeating the clichéd claims and informed Polish diplomats of Iran’s strong protests.
Wilczek said Warsaw was keen to strengthen ties with Iran and would urgently convey Iran’s protests to the country.
Iran and Russia have repeatedly denied allegations that Iran supplied drones, ballistic missiles and related technology to Moscow for use in the Ukraine war.
