According to Mehr News Agency, Iranian volleyball star Saber Kazemi, who will play for Qatar’s Al Rayyan in the 2025-26 season, lost consciousness while recovering in the pool yesterday. He was resuscitated by medical staff and immediately taken to hospital. He is currently undergoing medically induced sleep for treatment, following his doctor’s recommendations and prescribed medications.
Medical reports have confirmed that all of Kazami’s organs, including her heart, lungs and liver, are completely healthy. He is in intensive care at one of Doha’s hospitals.
Following the report, Iranian Volleyball Federation President Seyyed Milad Taghavi contacted his Qatari counterpart and requested immediate follow-up. Qatar Volleyball Federation and Al Rayyan Club pledged to make every effort for the Iranian player’s full recovery.
Mr Taghabi asked Ali Al Ghawari, a Qatari national, to personally supervise Mr Kazemi’s care and, if necessary, transfer him to Doha’s best-equipped hospital for intensive care.
