During the telephone conversation, Araghchi expressed deep concern over the recent clashes between Afghanistan and Pakistan and called on both sides to exercise restraint, cease hostilities and resolve the conflict through dialogue and negotiations. He warned that continued tensions between the two Muslim neighbors would not only cause humanitarian losses but also undermine stability in the entire region.
The Iranian Foreign Minister also reiterated the Iranian government’s readiness to help reduce tensions and foster constructive dialogue between the two countries.
Meanwhile, Minister Muttaqi briefed Prime Minister Araghchi on recent developments and emphasized that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan supports dialogue and peace over military conflict.
The two ministers also discussed the issue of water rights in the Helmand River, stressing the need to maintain existing water agreements, strengthen technical cooperation, and jointly manage water resources to prevent waste and ensure Iran’s fair share in this season.
Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral relations, maintaining border security, and preventing foreign interference in regional issues. The two leaders agreed to continue consultations and coordination to promote peace and stability in the region.
