Hamas said in a statement Sunday that the U.S. statement “completely overlaps with Israeli occupation disinformation and provides political cover for Israel’s ongoing organized crime and aggression against our people.”
The movement accused the Israeli occupation of forming, arming and financing criminal gangs that kill Palestinian civilians, kidnap them, loot aid trucks and rob them, stressing that “the facts on the ground prove just the opposite.”
Hamas said the occupation forces themselves had “openly acknowledged these crimes through media reports and video recordings,” confirming their involvement in spreading chaos and undermining security.
Hamas stressed that the Gaza police, supported by community efforts, are fulfilling their national obligation to “pursue and prosecute these gangs through clear legal means in order to protect the population and protect public and private property.”
The movement called on the US government to “stop repeating the occupying forces’ deceptive narrative” and instead focus on the Israeli regime’s repeated violations of the ceasefire agreement, chief among them its suppression of support and protection for the same armed groups in the territories it controls.
Hamas concluded its statement by reaffirming its determination to maintain security and protect the Palestinian people from systematic aggression and internal destabilization efforts.
