Kazem Ghalibabadi, the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Justice and International Affairs, posted on X (formerly Twitter) that he met with Special Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Khalav Karafov, on Monday.
He said that a wide range of issues were discussed during the meeting, including bilateral relations, cooperation in the Caspian Sea, the importance of peace and stability in the South Caucasus region, and cooperation within the framework of the Conference on Exchange and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA).
Mr. Gharibabadi noted that both countries believe there is great potential to expand cooperation between the two countries in various fields. He added that common religious, cultural and neighborhood ties and the strong will of senior officials of both countries will be valuable assets that should be leveraged to achieve common interests and goals.
He further emphasized that both countries agree that the best way to address differences and misunderstandings common to neighboring countries is through sincere dialogue aimed at removing obstacles to the comprehensive development of relations.
