Armed terrorists opened fire on a bus in the Kafr Maris region of western Idlib, killing at least one man and one woman and wounding four others, al-Masira reported.
The incident comes as violence continues to escalate across Syria. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also reported a spike in violent clashes in Homs province, with members of the Alawite community under attack by unknown armed groups.
In the past three days, at least eight people, including two women, have been killed in the state as a result of these assaults, the report added. The security situation in central Syria, particularly in Homs province, has significantly deteriorated in recent weeks.
The observatory also noted that at least 359 people have been killed across Syria in similar acts of violence since the beginning of the year. Earlier this month, a large number of Syrian Christians were attacked by unknown assailants in western Homs, underscoring the growing instability across the country.
