Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei described the Israeli attack as a “terrorist and aggressive act” and expressed his deep condolences to the families of the victims and the Lebanese people. He stressed that the Zionist regime needs to be prosecuted and punished for its crimes.
Bagai denounced the Israeli regime’s ongoing impunity, which he attributed to Washington’s full political and military support. He pointed out that Israel’s repeated attacks on Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as its continued violations of the ceasefire agreement, reveal the essential terrorist and hegemonic nature of the Lebanese regime.
The spokesperson stressed that these actions were serious violations of international law and humanitarian principles, and warned that continued Israeli aggression threatened peace and stability in the region.
He further called on the international community, particularly the United Nations Security Council, to fulfill its responsibility to hold Israel accountable and prevent further crimes against civilians in Lebanon and elsewhere in the region.
