In the early hours of Saturday, Israeli occupation forces detained three Palestinians in Turkallum Governorate as attacks by Israeli settlers intensified across the West Bank. Al-Mayadeen reported that the detentions were part of the occupation’s continued crackdown on Palestinian civilians, particularly in areas where resistance to settlement expansion and military invasion is growing.
On Friday night, Israeli settlers launched a violent attack on the village of al-Mughair, northeast of Ramallah, setting fire to several vehicles in the western part of the village. Amin Abu Aliyah, head of the village council, acknowledged that unarmed residents confronted the settlers and were eventually forced to retreat.
After the attack, Israeli occupation forces raided the village. No injuries were reported, but the attack further escalated tensions in the region.
Earlier in the day, settlers also attacked Palestinian vehicles with stones near the Marj Sai plains between al-Mughair and Abu Farah. According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Committee, Israeli settlers have carried out more than 7,150 attacks against Palestinians in the West Bank since October 7, 2023. Attacks by these settlers caused widespread destruction of property, farmland, and vehicles, and resulted in the deaths of 34 Palestinians.
